If you enjoy a nice massage, a new study shows the benefits may do more good than we previously thought.
Research now shows scientific evidence that rubbing sore muscles promotes healing and reduces inflammation.
The study performed by researchers at Ohio State University and McMaster University focused on 11 men following an intense workout.
One leg was massaged, while the other was not.
Researchers performed muscle biopsies and found increases in molecules associated with healing, and lower inflammatory molecules found on the massaged legs.
Remember, until now, all of us have had to rely on anti-inflammatory drugs to relieve our sore muscles.
Now it looks like all we really need is a good massage.
