There are three things that I can think of that one can do to help prevent bad breath. Number one certainly is brushing your teeth and everybody knows how to brush their teeth, but that’s a huge implement to reduce bad breath.

Number two is flossing our teeth. It’s important people know that flossing at least once a day, at night time before they go to bed is the most appropriate time if you are only going to do it once. As a dentist of course we’d like to see two or three times a day.

Another thing that people don’t recognize is that brushing your tongue is actually huge in reducing bad breath. There’s a lot of bacteria that collect on the tongue, the surface of the tongue and that bacteria is what promotes unfortunately bad breath and if we can brush that bacteria away that will help reduce the actual bad breath as well.
