Dr. Kogan describes some alternative treatments used to calm panic attacks.
Dr. Kogan:
Panic attacks are one of my favorite diseases to treat. It’s a misnomer of course, a favorite disease to treat, but it’s one of the most challenging things, I should say, to treat. Why? Because most people who have experienced panic attacks at one point or another are awaiting some sort of a quick fix from a provider, you know, which can come in the form of a prescription medication.
Unfortunately, these prescription medications have a lot of side effects. So, people who come to my practice are often seeking an alternative to prescription medications and the number one treatment that I recommend is hypnosis. Number two treatment, probably relaxation techniques and yoga. Number three-- acupuncture and electromagnetic pulsation waves together.
