Sexual Health Quiz: Test Your Knowledge on this "Dry" Subject!
1. How would you describe/define the following terms?
- Dry Humping
- Dry Sex
- Dry Intercourse
2. What specific behaviors am I engaging in if I do any of the following?
- Dry Humping
- Dry Sex
- Dry Intercourse
3. Can you "get" pregnant from any of the following sexual activities?
- Dry Humping
- Dry Sex
- Dry Intercourse
4. Can you spread or contract an STI/STD from any of the following sexual behaviors? (STI/STD = sexually transmitted infections or diseases)
- Dry Humping
- Dry Sex
- Dry Intercourse
ANSWERS:
1. Dry= No Bodily Fluid Contact
The word "dry" means that there is no bodily fluid exchange or contact, including fluids or lubrication from the penis, vagina, anus or mouth. These specifically can include pre-ejaculatory fluid ("pre-cum"), ejaculatory fluid or "ejaculation" or "cum", vaginal lubrication or vaginal secretions.
"Dry humping" and "dry sex" can be summed up by using the term: "outercourse".
There is actually no such thing as "dry intercourse", as penetration can never be considered a "dry" activity as there is natural lubrication from your body that is considered a "bodily fluid".
2. Outercourse can include:
- massaging, touching
- masturbation
- body rubbing, humping or "going through motions" of sex while fully clothed (genitals are fully covered)...most commonly called "dry humping"
Outercourse can not include:
- penetration of penis into vagina, anus or mouth
- body rubbing while clothed, but some "slippage" of clothing (underwear, specifically)
- ejaculation near vagina, even while covered, with chance of semen spilling over clothing
3. No, Outercourse would not lead to pregnancy
As explained above, outercourse does not involve the contact or exchange of any bodily fluids, and therefore, would not create a risk for pregnancy
4. Yes, Outercourse may still carry the risk of spreading or contracting an STI/STD
The word "dry" is important when talking about pregnancy and STIs/STDs, as Outercourse is a Good Safer Sex Option, but is not 100% "safe".
Safer Sex is any sexual behavior that reduces your risk for infection or pregnancy. Although most STDs/STIs are spread through exchange of bodily fluids, some are transmitted from skin-to-skin contact (meaning: you don't have to have intercourse/penetration to become infected with an STD/STI). The skin-to-skin contact through outercourse can be a risk for STD/STI.
Lastly,
What are the Benefits of Outercourse (for two consenting adults?)
- Pleasurable form of sexual expression and intimacy
- Type of "safer sex" without need for contraception (for pregnancy prevention)
- Lower risk for contracting or spreading STIs or STDs (sexually transmitted infections or diseases)
- No risk for pregnancy
- It can be a sexual behavior that is pleasurable, exciting and not stress-inducing (from the point of view of women, wondering if they are pregnant)

Hi I just wanted to find out the risks behind washing my entire vulva with soap and cold water immediately after my boyfriend was thrusting against my hymen without a condom while we were both naked. There was no penetration at all no ejaculation just pre ejaculation fluid and he would occasionally stimulate my clitoris with his hands. He also rubbed his penis against my clit. It was immediately after this that I peed first and washed with cold water and soap as it was readily available. About 2hours later I took a bath and concentrated on my vulva washed again with the hot bath water and lemon African black soap twice and a regular neutral soap with a bit of douching to make sure no semen or precum is left behind on my body and rinced off with alot of bath water (i know douching and soaping the clitoral and vaginal area is wrong but I needed to for my own peace of mind) . After my bath I used some baby powder on the area to ease any irritation that might occur and keep the area dry in case there is live semen on my body that didn't wash off. Is it possible to get pregnant even after all that I did.

Hi!
My boyfriend and I were messing about and we were humping without our clothes on, he didn't enter me (I was holding the head of his penis to make sure) and he didn't ejaculate. I'm still scared, however, that I may be pregnant due to precum. It was during the time I was meant to be ovulating and on that day and the day after I noticed more discharge than usual. I've read a lot of articles that say I may be pregnant and I'm quite worried about this.
Thank you!

Hello!!
I really really hope you can help me. I am flipping out. So last wednesday my boyfriend and I were grinding nude but for most time, i made him but a tissue on the head of the penis to keep his pre cum from touching me (he had peed 3 times that day but I still wanted to be safe) and when he tookoff the tissue, he would rub himself behind me (between my buttcheeks, sorry for tmi). After he ejaculated faaaar from me, we went back at it again after 30 mins except that I gave him oral sex before he did the same thing with my back. I just wanted to know if in any way or shape this cld get me pregnant. We both try go be as safe as possible but I think I'm gonna start taking the pill.
November 7, 2016 - 10:25amThe thing is, this happened the day of (I think, because my cyxles are 28 days long) my ovulation. And then, three days later, I wake up to find more ewcm discharge and watery discharge. I am usually a bit more dry after ovulation. Please help

My girlfriend was naked and I was on my underwear. We were feeling the ride that I am on her top of her. I wonder if she is pregnant now. It's been 26 days. Given that my underwear is wet outside.

Hello Anonymous,
There should not have been a risk because you were wearing underwear, which kept any ejaculated semen inside. If her period is late by more than one week, she can take a pregnancy test. That is the way to know if she is pregnant.

Thank you for that. Yesterday, she took a test and resulted negative. Is that a good answer already? But she told me she is irregular. One more thing, I noticed that my underwear got stained by blood from her vagina when we were having the ride.

Hi Anonymous,
Was her period late when she tested? If so, how late?

She said her last period was October 1. She took the test November 2. I am not sure how to count if how many days her late was. She cannot identify it also.

Hi, my girlfriend is really worried about dry humping without undies. The contact is between her vagina and the shaft of my penis. I think no fluids were exchanged in that since the contact is with my penis shaft and not on the head. Can i confidently say that she is safe from pregnancy? Hope to hear from you soon

Earlier today I was messing around with a guy and I was wearing jeans without underwear and he was wearing underwear and thin running pants. He came unexpectedly while dry humping and I felt wetness near my vagina, is there any chance of pregnancy? Afterwards I practically poured a whole water bottle on myself to clean off any cum that would've stained but does that make it easier for sperm to enter the vagina? Also later that night we were fooling around again, and he came on my body. If I touched it and then lightly touched myself, is there a chance of pregnancy?
