Melissa explains how she copes with her lung cancer fears.
Melissa:
I am definitely fearful. My cancer is terminal and there is no cure, but I guess I am definitely more of a positive person and I try to see things in a positive light. I take things day-by-day and when people see me they always say, “I can’t believe you have cancer. You look great.”
And it’s funny because, you know, I may put on makeup and do my hair and everything, but what they don’t know is that I am in a lot of pain inside my body and, that even though I may put on a front that it’s not what’s going on inside.
But as far as, again, the fear goes, I just try to take things day-by-day and not think too much about it. I mean, there’s too many things to do and as far as paperwork goes and, you know, things to do and a life before I do pass away, if, you know, it’s any time soon, I want to take advantage of the time that I have; spending it with loved ones and seeing and doing the things that I haven’t got the chance to do or that I like to do now.
