Dr. Reitzel discusses cases where the patient cannot receive an epidural.

Dr. Reitzel:
There are certain patients who cannot receive an epidural. Those patients are patients who have received blood thinners or patients who have components in their blood that are low.

Typically speaking, before we place an epidural we will draw some labs to make sure all those labs are in order, but 99 percent of all the people who request epidurals are candidates for getting epidurals.
