My period isn't due for two weeks but my uterus is sore and I'm having cramps off and on could I be pregnant or maybe ovulating?

Hello Anonymous,

A blood test to check hCG levels is the definitive way to confirm pregnancy. Consult your physician, who prescribe Lexapro, about potential withdrawal symptoms.

Hello pinky87,
I can understand how eager you and your husband are to get the positive results that you are pregnant.

A blood test to check hCG levels is more accurate than a urine test for pregnancy. An pelvic ultrasound, usually done after eight weeks into a pregnancy, will show the developing fetus. These are two diagnostic tests done to confirm a pregnancy.

Your symptoms may be caused by something else, particularly heartburn. I suggest you make an appointment with your primary medical physician.

I have a question. i stopped taking my bc 3 wks ago and my husband and i etc. Now its 8 days after i ovulated and im.having abdominal cramps and lower back pain. im not sure if this is my body adjusting or im pregnant. could you please tell me what you think it might be. i did take a pregnancy test a day ago and it was negative. im also stopping lexapro too. and im gagging several times a day so im not sure if that is a withdrawal symptom. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks

Hi There

I wonder if you could help me, so I started my period on the 18th of July 2012 (correct time) but lasted 2 days then it dissapeared, the next day only that afternoon it returned (20 July) Then Saturday 21 July it was completely over. I am normally on for about 6 days my period has never dissapeard and returned. I normally have cramping the very first day and then its over. but ever since my period stopped ive been having cramping very light cramping in my lower abdomen and my lower back. (the lower back cramps have never happened to me either) I called my Gynie and he recommended i do a pregnancy a test. I did one the Tuesday night at round about 21:00 pm (24 July 2012). It developed a VERY VERY VERY fient second line so i thought nah this is a no.

I have been suffering with heartburn (which i rarely get) and feel really really hungry but when i eat i cant eat alot cause i start to feel sick! After eating breakfast about an hour later now i have heartburn again! Im having discharge but its not like always, its thick..sometimes a a mixture of wet and thick and its not the white colour it normally is, its slightly brown...

I do not have sore boobs or increase in smell or anything like that, i only have CRAZY heartburn sometimes and feel a little oozie (not every second of every day) just every now and then, comes and goes! Im thinking of doing another test, but i just have this doubt in my mind! how could i be pregnant if i had my period? But where is the cramping, and the ooziness and the heartburn coming from! is my mind playing tricks on me????????

P.S (My hubby and I are trying!) So PRAYING FOR A YES!!!!!!

Hello Schneck,
Considering everything that you have shared, a pregnancy test would be the best solution to answer your question. Start with a home pregnancy test. If it is negative, consult your physician. Your doctor may decide to order a blood pregnancy test or simply have you come in for a physical examination.

Thank you Maryann for your insight. I have taken a PT and it was negative. I do not have insurance as of the moment, but will have it next month. If I were pregnant, I would only be a little over two weeks and it wouldn't show on a PT until I was late for my menstral cycle; However, I will take another one and if the tenderness continues I will be going to the MedExpress Clinic. Today is my 30th birthday and it would be a pleasant surprise if I were in fact pregnant.

Alright so I gander you have probably heard it all. I am recently married (11/11/11) and I have a child already (7 yrs) and my hubby and I have sex on a weekly basis now that things have calmed down from the excitement of newlyweds. So, now my question. I have never had a regular period a day in my life. I have always had to go on BC to regulate it. I haven't been on BC for about two years now; I do not know when I ovulate and have never really had any indicating factors occur except 'mucus' every couple of weeks here and there due to irregularity. The last three months I have been pretty regular almost to the day.

So, down to my question. Had my period on the 1st of July. We had intercourse on the 13th of July (half the time protected, put condom on before ejaculation*); lately (19th) I have been experiencing some severe tenderness in my abdominal area (i.e. the uterus area). I bend in the wrong way, I feel pain; I push gently in the area, I feel pain; Now, this isn't my first pregnancy but the indicator with my FP was morning sickness (badly); and right now, I only have (1) sore breasts (here and there) with a noticeable enlargement of the breast tissue; (2) slight nausea; (3) exhaustion (but my sleeping habits changed recently and I'm up at 4:30am with my hubby); (4) the tenderness in my uterine area.

Question: Could this be pregnancy? a reproductive issue (i.e. cancer)? or could it possibly be ovulation symptoms?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm really concerned of the alternative. I want a baby so I'm hoping for the first question, but any concern would be obvious.

*Note: My hubby isn't really interested in having a baby as he claims to be too old (35 yrs), but only protects himself with a condom right before he ejaculates. Yes, i am aware that pre-ejaculation can still get me pregnant.

Hello Anonymous,
You are not pregnant if you are having a menstrual period.
