Christina explains how having a hysterectomy and dealing with hormone imbalances has made her a stronger person.
Christina:
The biggest thing I hear from like a lot of older women, people that have mentored me, is I always think about, my grandmother died of colon cancer. What I am going through somebody could be going through ten times more, and another real good advice that was given to me is, “You would be amazed how many people are watching you.”
So people are watching me. They are watching me go through my struggle. People that I didn’t even realize, just people that I have met at work. They have been like, “I don’t know a lot about you, but there’s something special about you. And there’s something, you’ve got that drive and, you know, what is it?”
It’s when you hear things like that, it’s that that that’s my test, that’s my trials. You know, you think, “Oh, I don’t know what’s going on with me,” but that’s what it is. And it’s people are like, you’d be just amazed how many people are watching my journey, or I don’t even realize that are looking at me, are watching how I respond to this.
I mean, even though I might have had a few setbacks, I might have fallen, like Donovan Clarke says, I get back up again. You know what I mean? And it’s maybe five, six or seven times, but every time I have noticed that I get back up. I become a little bit more stronger. And it was weird because when I actually had my hysterectomy, and a lot of people don’t believe in tattoos but I had actually gotten one that means God give me strength.
And this is my life verse that means, For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. So it’s almost like I felt something was taken from me, but I needed to add something. But a lot of people ask about this, so it’s sometimes I have been able to use this to be like, Well, this means God gave me strength, and how I got this was through my hysterectomy.
