LaDawnna discusses why she helps other women cope with abuse and addiction and shares advice for women who feel worthless.

LaDawnna:
Hello. My name is Pastor LaDawnna Hudson and I am CEO and Founder of Women of Power International.

And what we do is we help hurting women. We help them in every stage of their life whether it’s critical in the beginning, in the middle when they are getting through it and at the end when it’s all done. So we are pretty rounded as far as helping women.

Our goal is to get them to a place where they desire in their hearts to be. Sometimes women think about changing but they don’t know how to get there.

So our job is to build their self-esteem and get them to the place where they are comfortable with themselves and from that point they can do pretty much anything.

Helping women overcome abuse, depression and addiction, it makes my job easier. It makes what I do worth it.

When I see a woman’s life change, that’s it for me. It’s a high that the pills and the marijuana can never do for me. It’s the most relaxing thing for me.

When I help someone I get back in my office and I sit back in my chair and I think, man, I remember when she looked like this, or she act like this, or she didn’t believe in herself, or she didn’t love herself and now look at her.

You could see confidence all over them and it makes a difference because if it happened for me I am no better than anybody else, why shouldn’t it happen for somebody else? That’s why. That’s why I help women.

The advice that I would give to a woman trying to find her value and worth is to look for the positive things in your life first.

See, most people go for the negative and try to improve it. You need to get the positive and then build on that and everything else will just come together.

About LaDawnna Hudson:
Pastor LaDawnna Hudson is the CEO and founder of Women of Power International as well as the first lady and pastor of Shield of Faith Christian Center in Mesa, Arizona. LaDawnna's desire to help women stems from her early years of abuse, depression and poverty. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan in the late 50's, the fourth of nine children, she saw firsthand the struggle of her mother and other women being undereducated, suffering with low self-esteem and being abused by men who treated them more like property than wives. She too suffered hard times, she was raped, beaten, strangled, suffocated, ran down by a car and married to a man who tried to kill her twice. LaDawnna's journey through her troubled past motivates her to help other hurting women change their lives.
