Colleen explains how she involved her loved ones on her ovarian cancer journey.
Colleen:
Just having them there with me, going down to treatment, I love the fact that they’re there, even though they're bored to tears, and I just sit in a chair and get pumped with fluids. It’s really quite comforting and then they come over the next day to see how I am. Usually the chemo doesn’t affect you for a day or two days, and then all of a sudden, you’re down and you just can’t get up for a couple of days, and they’ve been there. They’ve seen it all. They have seen all of it. I haven't hid anything from them, and I am hoping that some day that if they ever go, have to go through this type of treatment that they all know what to expect and what to anticipate and that they can get up and get going right after the days when you’re not feeling so great. You can always look forward to getting up and moving again.
