He is a talented bagpiper and was taken into the bagpipe corps in his freshman year - he had straight A's in band last year and this year 4 out of 5 teachers call him a pleasure to have in class. The band director refuses to work with us and the psychiatrist feels that reinstating him into the bagpipes will help him not only maintain his grades in other subjects but help him successfully navigate the rest of his two years of high School. What do I do if the school is refusing to work with me on this? PLEASE help me!

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for your question. I can imagine as a parent this most be very difficult to deal with. What are the reasons the band director or the school have, to not let your son continue with his bagpipes lessons. I think it would be best for you to talk to the school counselor about this and have them work with the school principal and band director as to reinstating your son back into his class and letting them know how his therapist feels in how well this would help him with his grades now and in the next two years of High School.
