My 13 year old daughter found little white worms when she wiped after a bowel movement. What do I do? Is there something I can get at the pharmacy to get rid of them?

Hello. Thank you for posting.

It might be Pinworm, which is an intestinal infection caused by tiny parasitic worms and is contagious.   If your child has a pinworm infection, your doctor will recommend an antiworm medicine. This is usually given in one dose and repeated in 2 weeks.  Although medicine takes care of the worm infection, the itching may continue for about a week. So the doctor also might give your child a cream or other medicine to help stop the itching.
