For about 17 years. In the beginning, I didn't even pay attention as it would last a week or so and go away for months. Now it won't go away! My doctor prescribed Vectical to be applied 2 x a day. It's not helping. I spend hrs a day in the sun/beach, all day on my days off, so vitamin d is not the problem. What else to do? I spend time in Denver, CO and Florida and it does not make a difference as to where I am. Also, my job required that I took the yellow fever vaccine and upon consulting my dermatologist, she said it was OK. Really? I'm not so sure, although now it's too late because I took the vaccine. Please advise,
Thanks,
Elaine Welzel

I think you will find this information helpful:
pustular psoriasis treatments.

Many sources stated that it is important to use a combination of treatments to help palmoplantar psoriasis. The medication you are taking is a type of Vitamin D, and there are many other medications (both topical and systemic), as well as other treatments (including light therapy; specifically in a medical setting and not just sunlight).

Sometimes drugs are combined with other drugs to make a preparation that is more helpful than an individual topical medication.

The Livestrong Foundation states, "According to the Mayo Clinic, oral medications for psoriasis include retinoids, methotrexate and cyclosporine. These medications work by reducing the body's production of skin cells, and controlling inflammation. One of the top oral medications that is particularly effective for palmar psoriasis, as noted by the NZDS, is Acitretin."

Lastly, have you had tests conducted (blood tests, etc), and was a cause or trigger found for your chronic psoriasis? Can you explain your symptoms in more detail?
