Use Baking Soda For Exfoliation– When baking soda is used to exfoliate your skin, it plays an important role in lightening the scars. Take one teaspoon of baking soda and mix it with two teaspoons of water to form a paste. Apply the paste on your face and gently rub it in circular motions.

There are many things you can do to get rid of acne scars. In fact, I usually use many amazing home remedies that are very effective in removing acne scars. Simple things like lemon, honey, Aloe Vera and many more really work like magic in removing these scars. These things not only remove acne but also help in making your skin smooth, clear and beautiful.

Hi Anon and welcome to EmpowHER.

Acne scars typically form when a deep pimple or acne blemish breaks under the surface of the skin. This can cause permanent damage to skin tissue. As the body works to repair the damage, a protein fiber called collagen forms new skin to close up this injury. If there is too much collagen in the repaired area, a raised scar can form. This kind of scar is known as keloid or hypertrophic scarring. If there is less tissue after healing than before, scar tissue can look sunken or holey. This kind of scar is known as depressed or atrophic scarring.

Treatment for acne scars depends on the type of scar. Please see this article, written for the EmpowHER community, for more information: Acne Scarring 101: A Guide to Scars and Treatment, as well as the second part, Acne 102: Available Acne Treatments.

Additionally, please visit our Acne Community section where you will find a wide range of information about acne treatment and acne scar treatments.

Is this helpful, anon? If you'd like to share more information about what you are dealing with we would be happy to try to help you further.

Best,

Pat
