Lately I have been experiencing pain for about 4 weeks, I have gone to the doctor and first there were signs of a UTI, so she gave me medication for 3 days. The next week it still wasn't gone, so I went back and she gave me another different medication for 7 days. After that symptoms weren't gone, went back the third time and she did a slide looking for yeast, gave me a 1 time medication for that. Pain still isn't gone. I now not only have pain after/during urinating but also back pain both upper and lower, pain in the buttocks that seems to get worse by day. I've had sex recently but I don't think it could be the soreness related to getting a work out. She told me to eat yogurt, hoping to balance the area and to maybe help clean it out from all the medication that i've been on this past month. Does anyone have any idea what this may be?

Hey kfir1288,
May 9, 2011 - 10:06amI agree with Pat, you need to discuss interstitial cystitis with your doctor as well as a kidney infection. If a UTI goes untreated or if it isn't cured by the antibiotics, it can lead to a kidney infection. As Pat said, seeing a urologist is a great idea.
Hope you are doing better. Please keep us updated on your condition!

Has your doctor discussed interstitial cystitis with you? The symptoms can resemble a urinary tract infection.

Kidney stones can cause back pain during urination. You can learn more about them here: https://www.empowher.com/condition/kidney-stones/definition
You may also want to consider seeing a urologist, a physician specializing in urinary medical conditions.
Hope that helps. Please keep us posted on your progress in determining what is causing your pain. We wish you well.
