The Joint Club: How Did They Help During Your Knee Replacement Recovery?

Rate This

Bonnie explains the Joint Club's mission at Banner Boswell Medical Center and describes how the club helped her to recovery after knee replacement surgery.

Bonnie:
The “Joint Club” here at Banner Boswell is for people who are having knee replacements or hip replacements done. They have a binder that they give to you prior to coming and if you don’t have it they’ll give you one. They have you come to the hospital for a tour of the facilities. They also explain in detail what to expect from your knee or your hip; they cover both surgeries. They just answer all of your questions. They take you on a tour of the facility where you will be.

The “Joint Club” also keeps you in your own separate ward and they keep you away from the general population of the hospital so that your roommate is going to be someone who has had a joint replacement, not someone who has pneumonia or some other disease. So your roommate, you can share experiences with how are you doing today with their replacement. It’s just fantastic what they do.
