Dr. Yehuda Handelsman
Dr. Yehuda Handelsman is an endocrinologist in solo practice in Tarzana, California; Medical Director, Metabolic Institute of America; and Senior Scientific Consultant, Metabolic Endocrine Education Foundation. He is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California, and a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Handelsman obtained his MD from Tel Aviv University, Israel; residency in internal medicine at New York Infirmary Beekman Downtown Hospital - New York University, New York; and fellowship in diabetes and endocrinology, University of Southern California Medical School, Los Angeles. Currently, he is Secretary of AACE and a member of the Executive Committee.
Dr. Handelsman serves on AACE’s National Lipids Guidelines, Diabetes Road Map, Insulin Pump Management & Safety Task Force; and the American College of Endocrinology Committee on Prevention of Diabetes. He is a founding member, immediate past president, and chair of the education committee to develop endocrine-metabolic education programs for physicians of the California chapter of AACE.
Dr Handelsman is founder & chair of the International Committee for Insulin Resistance, and the chair and program director of the Annual World Congress on the Insulin Resistance Syndrome(2003-08).
