Mornings can be daunting, especially the getting out of bed part, but research shows that early-risers are more likely to be more successful and optimistic throughout their day. Planning your perfect morning is essential to getting off on the right foot each and every day.

1. Create a schedule

Set a time to wake up every morning. Being on a schedule allows your body to adjust to its internal clock so that waking up (and falling asleep) becomes easier.

2. Disconnect

Make mornings “me” time. We are all guilty of scrolling through social media before we get out of bed to see what we missed while we were catching some Z’s but this prevents us from getting our day started. Turn your phone on airplane mode to have a more productive morning.

3. Meditate

When your alarm goes off in the morning, don’t give into the snooze button! Instead, get in the habit of spending five minutes meditating and setting your intentions for the day.

4. Do some Yoga

Don’t leave your bed without your morning stretch! Practice some gentle yoga poses to enliven the body and connect the mind so that you can handle whatever your day throws at you.

5. Change your space

When you get out of bed, it’s time to adjust your room from nighttime to daytime. Let some light in and make your bed.

6. Drink water

Have a glass of water. Adding lemon to the mix will boost your immune system, metabolism and recharge your system.

7. Have a Snack

It is important to fuel your body before a workout without feeling too full. Have a snack that is rich in protein and carbohydrates for energy that will sustain your whole workout.

8. Workout

Get moving! Working out in the morning speeds up your metabolism so that you are burning calories throughout your entire day. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins that will ensure that you start your day on a high note. Drink water throughout your workout to stay hydrated and energized.

9. Eat Breakfast

After your workout, have a big, healthy breakfast… you deserve it! Replenish your muscles with protein.
