Before discussing how to get your book traditionally published, I'm going to assume you've taken writing classes and seminars and written a spectacular, sharp novel with no grammatical errors, no cliches, a fresh plot, compelling characters, hooks where they're supposed to be, twists where they're supposed to be, perfect pacing, and killer dialogue. I will assume you are familiar with the market, the expectations for your genre, and have adhered to the page count requirements. I will assume that your chapters are the appropriate length for the type of story you've written, that your scenes are excellent, and that there are no point-of-view issues. If you have not completed all of that... Do not bother contacting a publisher.
