Fibromyalgia Treatments: What Was Helpful?

Sue recalls the alternative fibromyalgia treatments she engaged in that allowed her return to a normal lifestyle.

Sue:
What worked for me is finding a chiropractor that practiced something called the BEST. I think it stands for Bio-Energetic – don’t remember the rest of it, but somebody had referred me to him and instead of the traditional cracking and things that you think of when you go to a chiropractor, this particular doctor used a form of release and a lot of it had to do with mental release.

What kind of emotions were you keeping in your body that were keeping you sick, that were keeping you stressed, and as a result of being stressed you were sick. A lot of times they refer to it as the difference between stress and de-stress or distress. So I started going to Dr. Albert and working with him.

Believe it or not there is another technique that’s called Spiritual Response Therapy and it’s an alternative type of thing and it uses a pendulum to clear your past lives and things that you are blocking so that you can get beyond that, and I strongly believe that it was a combination of working with this chiropractor and working with this person that practice SRT, it was an emotional release. It was allowing me to get rid of all of the negative emotions and all of the stress that had been in my life and had been building for so long that it finally got me to the realization that being in my marriage was making me sick and that’s how I chose to deal with staying in my marriage was to make myself sick.

So once I started to get well my husband wanted to do things with me and he didn’t want to do things with me when I was not well and I decided that I didn’t want to do anything with him anymore and so, the last part of my getting well was leaving my 20-year marriage and I have never looked back and I have never felt better and that’s how I got well.
