Pre-Instagram buzz, it seems that celery was one of those tasteless vegetables we didn’t think twice about. We put it in our stews and brought it on a veggie tray to parties. We didn’t really think about the nutritional value.

It seems that every influencer and health guru is gushing about adding celery juice to their morning routines. They swear by it! Many of us are asking, what kinds of health benefits are in this “new kale”?

Drinking celery juice is a great way to consume vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. Celery juice contains vitamin K, vitamin C, potassium, folate, calcium, riboflavin, magnesium, manganese, and vitamin B6. It also contains a high percentage of water and electrolytes.

Celery contains fiber but when it's juiced the fiber is removed. If you consume it this way, make sure you are getting enough fiber in your diet from other sources.

If you have been on social media lately, you have probably seen claims about this magical juice. There have been many health benefit claims about this trend but little research to back them up. Some of these benefits include:
o Bloating prevention
o Reduces inflammation
o Good for gut health
o Improves immune system
o Boosts brain function
o Calms skin
o Strengthens digestion
o Great diuretic

If you decide to try this trend, make sure to not overdo it. Too much of anything can be harmful. Also, celery juice is not a cure-all and it is important to live a balanced life in all areas!
