More women are complaining about having trouble falling and staying asleep. Some believe this is due to an increasing stressors like balancing work and family, caring for loved ones, and the economy. Many sleep disturbances are being related to anxiety and technology. Staying up watching television, playing games on your cell phone when you should be sleeping…sound familiar?

It's time to make some changes to our lives and take control of our sleep problems. Here are some tips:
1) Instead of running around right before bed (doing laundry, chores) try creating a snooze-friendly routine before bed.
2) Make sure to squeeze in exercise during the day, this has been shown to reduce sleep problems in women and helps reduce depression and anxiety.
3) Lower the lights 2 hours before bedtime. This signals the body that it's time to wind down.
4) Shut off electronics at least one hour before bedtime.
