i had a bi-lateral masectomy on april 8, 2009. the tightness was felt immediatly after surgery so was not due to scar tissue. am seeing my second pain management dr. Nerve blocks do not help so far. am told my symptoms are unusual , even unheard of . after surgery my chest had to be aspirated several times . this is so painful ! have been on many pain meds, nerve meds. what has happened to me ?

Anon - It's sad to learn of your pain and I hope we can help you. I'm a bit puzzled, however, by your question. Many women have chest tightness following bi-lateral mastectomy, so I'm not sure why you've been told that your situation is very unusual. What were you told regarding this? Has any type of exercise program been started as part of your post-op care? Or is it too painful to even move?
