What's the best strategy with diverticulitis when taking long-haul flights?

I love to travel, but after hours in the air, I suffer stomach pain and severe constipation. Normally, psyllium husk helps me stay pain-free, but this does not help after air travel.

Hi Anon,

I am so sorry that you are dealing with Diverticulitis. I can certainly see how cumbersome it is when flying. Take a look at our Diverticulitis page for different treatments including: Medications (antibiotics), clear fluids, increasing fiber, and avoiding laxatives. Also, take a look at surgery as an option. I am not sure how severe your diverticulitis is but in some cases, surgery can be an option.
