Hello Anonymous,
Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for your question.
Throughout the day, blood pressure varies, depending on body position, breathing rhythm, stress level, physical condition, medications you take, what you eat and drink, and time of day. Blood pressure is usually lowest at night and rises sharply on waking.
Blood pressure may become low during pregnancy. Extremely low heart rate (bradycardia), heart valve problems, heart attack and heart failure can lead to a drop.
Thyroid conditions such as parathyroid disease, adrenal insufficiency known as Addison's disease, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and, in some cases, diabetes can trigger low blood pressure.
Dehydration, blood loss, severe infection and a severe allergic reaction can cause low blood pressure.
