I recently started birth control again and I took the pills for 12 days and then started having sex again. Am I protected or should I buy a plan b

If you started the pills are the correct time then you are protected. Usually it's started on the first day of a period. There is no need to take plan B. You need to read the instructions on your pill packet or check out the manufacturer's website as there are many kinds of pills with different instructions.
