I am an outgoing person generally, so don't really have a problem with "social anxiety", but there are occasions where my eye twitches or my mouth is really dry when I start talking with someone. I guess some people I find more intimidating than others? The difficult thing is, when these "symptoms" occur, it makes my awkwardness worse! How can I stop these annoyances, so I can focus on having a conversation (whether or not I find a person intimidating...I can deal with that!)
thanks!

The dry mouth thing is honestly kind of impossible to get rid of unless you can stop being nervous. However, the eye twitch is likely not even related to being nervous and should be easily fixable. Check out this page on eyelid twitching causes and cures to get rid of it.

Hey there, Thanks for writing. You may want to touch base with your physician first to make sure what you think are social anxiety issues aren't symptoms of some other condition. You may also want to check out information about social phobias from the National Institute of Mental Health to learn more about symptoms and treatment. Also, for a dry mouth, my dentist recommended something called Oasis. You may want to try it before heading out into public. Hope that helps.
