Is it too important for a pregnant woman to eat what she craves for? What happened if she doesn’t eat it? I mean some food a pregnant woman could crave for food which is not healthy. So I’m just curious why it is a must thing while it could do harm if it is unhealthy food in some cases. And if the pregnant woman avoid her cravings, something wrong could happen?

Hello Anon
Thank you for writing.
Some women crave inedible things (ashes, toothpaste etc) when pregnant. It's called "pica". These cravings should not be given into, of course, as they could be harmful. But if a woman is craving a food and it's healthy then there is no problem eating it. Some women crave chocolate or ice-cream which is ok to have just occasionally. Cravings do not have to be eaten and no harm will come if they are not. A healthy diet with a pre-natal supplement is best.
