The diet from my doctor, diets from other sites (which differ from other sites) just cannot seem to agree! For example, strawberries. Your web site states that this fruit is allowable; but my doctor's diet says no way, who's right?

The UPMC (University of Pittsburg Medical Center) has a great pdf file list of Low Oxalate Diet foods, complete with high, medium and low oxalate foods (and the corresponding amounts of each of these foods you can consume for a low oxalate diet).

Strawberries are actually high in oxalates...they are one of the highest oxalate fruits.
Oxalates are naturally occurring in all plant foods (vegetables, fruits), as well as dark beers, soy and other foods.
Did your doctor give you a list of high, medium and low oxalate foods, with the amount of oxalates per serving that you should be consuming?
If there is ever a doubt with conflicting information...always follow your doctors recommendations, or better yet...ask your doctor for clarification if you repeatedly see information (from credible sources) that provide contrary information. Speaking of misinformation: where did you see on the EmpowHER site that strawberries were a good food in a low-oxalate diet?
Do you have any other questions? Did your doctor provide you with written resources, or a referral to a Registered Dietitian (R.D.)?
