I have had Conversion D/O since the early 90's. The different psychiatrists I have seen here in Tx do not acknowledge or have anything to say or any treatment concerning it. I am getting older and if I cannot find a treatment center or a good psychiatrist to help me, I fear my future consists of broken bones because the brain slows down the function of my legs and I fall around and down like someone drunk. I have been to several E.R.'s and it anger's me so because several test me for every drug class you could think of, all to come back negative. I am not a drug abuser but I can see by looking @ me and my speech (sometimes lack of speech) they would think I was. Two different E.R.'s knew exactly what to do to bring me out of it. I have a resent article that states a person with this disorder needs in treatment consisting of hypnosis, psychotherapy, and taught how to deal with stress. Now I just need to find somewhere, even if it's another state.
