Hello Anon
Thank you for writing.
With no diagnosis, it's difficult to know what to do.
This issue could be due to a break/fracture, a bite or sting or an allergic reaction. If your husband will not seek medical care, it's just a guessing game but if swelling increases or there is increased pain, warmth or discharge (meaning a possible infection) or other increases in symptoms, he will need to see a doctor.
