Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

When you ask if there are negative effects to third stage kidney disease, I'm wondering what kind of health care you are receiving and what kind of information/counsel you are getting about this condition. Kidney disease can be serious - third stage means you have "moderate" damage.
Your kidneys filter waste and excess fluids from the body so when they don't work as they should, the body can fail.

Your high blood pressure may be a direct result of your kidney disease so you will have to monitor that carefully. You will also need to follow a strict, low protein diet. A low protein diet is easier for your kidneys to work with and will cause them less stress. You do need to talk to a nutritionist about this, your doctor can help you further.

It's possible for you to lead a good (and long!) life with third stage kidney disease - the key factors are watching your health closely and maintaining a special diet. You need to work along side your doctors and a nutritionist.
Best,
Susan
