I have a 4yr old son. He does not listen to me at all. i ask him to do something and its like im talking to a wall. I tell him not to do something and he just doesn't listen. I take away toys, i do time out, nothing seems to work. Hes got such a nasty not nice attitude all the time. I don't know what to do. I try and do fun activities with him and take him out to play when we have nice weather but he always seems to be doing something hes not suppose to and i have to yell at him or punish him by bringing him in the house. Everyone says "oh its just the age" or "its ADHD" but i think its something else... i just dont know what.... any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. i feel like such a terrible mom because i "cant fix him" or change the behavior...

Hello and thank you for sharing your question. I'd love to give you some helpful advice on the matter.

The first thing that comes to mind is food allergies.  Food allergies can completely alter a child's behavior.  I suggest you read about it on the link below.

Another possibility is Bi-polar Disorder.  It can also cause the symptoms you are describing in children.  I suggest you read about it at the link below.

The other reason for his behavior may be psychological.  You may want to analyze if there are any events in his life which may be causing him to harness aggression.  I know its hard to imagine a 4 year old being affected at such as young age.  However, high stress levels in a child can be reflected by these symptoms.

I hope this helps you come closer to finding answers.  Let us know if you have any more questions.
