Thanks for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! Weight gain happens with a lot of women during menopause and years later during post-menopause. It can be a frustrating time, but there are a few tips and tactics you can try to reduce weight gain from menopause.
Here are a few tips for weight loss during menopause:
1. Avoid refined carbs and replace them with complex carbs like whole grains.
2. Avoid saturated fats in foods like ice cream and cream cheese.
3. Find healthy, monosaturated fats, like avocado, Greek frozen yogurt, nuts and seeds.
4. Eat raw foods like fruits and veggies that are in their natural state.
5. Try pilates or yoga. Not only is a great exercise, it's also a great way to relax if menopause is causing added stress.
6. Exercise moderately - at least 30 minutes on most days.
7. If you lack fitness motivation, find a workout buddy.
