Found a lump in my breast the size of a baseball?!

So i found a lump in my breast a little over a year ago but at first I didn't do anything about it because I never really went to the doctor growing up and I didn't have insurance so I didn't know how to go about it and I'm still a college student so I didn't have any money and I didn't know how much a doctor visit would cost. My concern is that the lump in my breast is now the size of a baseball I believe and I'm just wondering if I'm just doomed already? Dumb question I know but now I just feel embarrassed to go to the doctor because I feel like they will look at me like are you crazy why didn't you come in sooner! O

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Any doctor may give you that reaction, but when it comes to your health, its a little price to pay compared to the dangers this growth may imply.
If you have a low income, you may qualify for a waiver that will cover all medical bills. Also if you qualify for Medi-Cal it covers any medical costs dating prior months as well.
Kaiser especially is very good at waiving fees for low income households and students.
So, bottom line is, don't worry about the financial cost because there are very good solutions for that. You need to see a doctor as soon as possible.
