I want to help her but not able, or be her total support system. I am 60 and can't finance her. Emotionally, te disease is bigger than she can handle andI feel helpless. don't know when she needs controlled care.
She just had cysts removed which occurred after med change to get her hormones balanced, now Dr. is putting her back on Depecote.
She is getting lost in the system and needs intervention. The disease is bigger than I can help, it seems we have been putting bandaideson it since she was small, where can he go to get help, her socal securiy disability is 900 a month. She livesin Lawrenceville, Ga. and I in Texas.

Thank you so much for visiting the website and for sharing your heartfelt story with us. I am so sorry about the troubles your daughter is having with her health. I can sense your frustration and feelings of helplessness from your post. I am sure I would be feeling the same way.
I also have a few questions for you, if you don't mind. From where were the cysts removed? Have your daughter's bipolar symptoms gotten worse since the surgery and taking the Depecote? What types of doctors are currently treating her? For example, a psychiatrist for the bipolar and a primary care physician for the cysts, or one doctor for everything?
If you can answer these questions and Diane's also from above then I think we can start pointing you in some directions to help your daughter. Anon, I'm so glad you found EmpowHer. Welcome, and I hope we can be of some help to you. Your daughter's situation is heartbreaking, and I know it must be so painful for you to be so far away from her.
Do you believe she is getting good medical care? Do you like her doctor? Is he a psychiatrist? Would he agree that she needs in-patient care or a different living situation?
Please tell me more about what system she is getting lost in. The insurance system? The psychiatric care system? Can you talk a little bit more about this?
What is your daughter's situation? Is she able to keep a part-time job, or does she primarily stay at home? What is her living situation now? Has she ever been in a controlled living situation?
