Really concerned about my iphone. It gets very hot during a call. I have not found any conclusive research on impact of phone usage on body.

Nothing conclusive. There is an Israeli report on heavy usage of mobile phone causing salivary gland tumors. Risk is very low. Driving and texting has more risk. Just get a headset.

Hello Anonymous,
To clarify, cell phones emit radiofrequency energy, a form of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation, which can be absorbed by tissues closest to where the phone is held. Whether or not this increases when the phone is overheated, I do not know.
The National Cancer Institute states that current information from existing research studies have not shown a consistent link between cell phone use and cancers of the brain, nerves, or other tissues of the head or neck. More research is needed because cell phone technology and how people use cell phones have been changing rapidly.
Regarding tumors of the salivary glands, the American Cancer Society states One study has suggested an increased risk of parotid gland tumors among heavy cell phone users. In this study, most of the tumors seen were benign (not cancer). Other studies looking at this issue have not found such a link. Research in this area is still in progress.
Hope this calms any fears,

Hello Anonymous,
I do not think an overheated mobile phone is fatal, but you might consider replacing it.
