Recently, I’ve been experiencing lightheadedness before my period. It doesn’t happen every single month, but this past month was very troublesome because it lasted almost two weeks and I cannot work or function normally...
At first, I didn’t realize it could be hormonal, but once again this month I noticed that the lightheadedness suddenly disappears two or three days after my period starts.
Now my period has ended four days ago and, unfortunately, I’m starting to feel a bit lightheaded again... not enough to make me miss work, but I’m afraid it will get worse! I wonder if now this is because I’m starting ovulating??
For reference, I’m 35 years old and I haven’t children.
I’ve been experiencing some health issues since maybe five years ago and since then it all has been downhill. I also have an uterine fibroid which was found out three years ago and makes for a more painful and heavy menstruation.
If anyone has any clue, please help.

There may be a correlation between your symptoms and your menstrual cycle. Since your bleeding is heavy, you may have anemia.
Other causes for lightheadedness may be low blood pressure, low blood sugar, allergies or even a heart condition.
Since this issue seems to be increasing, a visit to the doctor is a good idea. Your blood pressure, blood sugars and iron levels should be checked as well as other tests your doctor deems important.
