I have had the flu last 5 days with bronchritus. Went to bathroom today and all bright red blood came out quite a bit.

Bright red blood may be seen only on toilet paper or in the toilet bowl after a bowel movement – not mixed freely with the bowel movement. This type of bleeding is usually caused by hemorrhoids (piles) or anal fissure. A hemorrhoid is a swollen vein inside the anus. A fissure is a split in the lining of the anus. Otherwise, you might have an internal issue. We cannot know. See your doctor who can tell you with certainty what is going on.
