Dear Anon,
Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer.
If you get Diarrhea after consuming corn or lettuce, this can be due to a food allergy. Lettuce is not as common as corn, shellfish, or peanuts but it is a food allergy. After consuming lettuce, a person who is allergic will either have skin reactions, respiratory issues, or digestive complications such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, gas, and abdominal pain. There is no real cure to being allergic to lettuce (and corn in your case) but this can be managed through elimination from your diet. Unfortunately, if you are allergic to lettuce or corn, avoidance is the only solution.
The biggest complication this can cause is anaphylaxis-- which is a systemic reaction and can be life-threatening. If you feel like you may have allergies to corn and lettuce and that this information applies to you, only your doctor can diagnose you so be sure to schedule an appointment for any diagnostic tests/procedures.
Hope this helps!
