Perimenopause refers to the transitional phase of a woman's reproductive life. During this time, estrogen levels rises and falls unevenly. Menstrual cycles may lengthen or shorten. You may begin having menstrual cycles in which your ovaries don't release an egg .
Experiencing breast tenderness and nipple soreness can indicate high levels of estrogen.
