It depends on so many factors, as there is not an exact date, as every women is different...and every woman's cycle is different from month-to-month.
If you need an exact date, you can count 2 weeks before your period is expected, and have sex on this day, plus a few days before. The reasoning: many women ovulate around the middle of their cycle, or an average of "day 14" for a 28-day cycle. Your ovulation date may be a few days earlier, say around "day 12" of your cycle, since you have a shorter cycle. The normal range for cycles is 21-35 days, and this is just a range.
Please know that women's bodies are not like clockwork; our bodies are reacting and interacting with the environment, and as such, you may ovulate "early" or "late". Some women can ovulate as early as "day 7" in their cycle; others as late as "day 20". It depends on the woman, the circumstances...so many factors that are not predictable on some occasions. Other occasions, you may know that you ovulate exactly on the same cycle day every month.
So...with this information, experts tell women to have unprotected sex as frequently as possible. Every-other day is "ideal", but at least 3 times per week if possible. The more times you have unprotected sex, the more likely you are to be pregnant, and each cycle you only have a 20% chance of conceiving...so it really can take months and months before you conceive. Don't become frustrated...just know it's a process and enjoy it while you can!
If you are unable to have frequent sex, you can use an ovulation predictor kit that can help pinpoint ovulation. It is best to have sex BEFORE you ovulate, as the sperm can "wait" for an egg to be released for about 3 (or more) days inside the woman's body. Once you ovulate, the ovum (egg) is only viable for about 24 hours.
Good luck!
