Adrenal fatigue

Recently diagnosed with severe adrenal fatigue and prescribed hydrocortisone. I asked if there were any other treatments and he said no. However, now I'm seeing many other adrenal treatments to support the adrenal glands. Why would my doctor tell me there were no other treatments for me. Is mine just too severe for supplements to work? What is the difference between between adrenal fatigue and Addisons? He's currently weaning me off to see if my my adrenal glands will start up,again, if not he says I will have to be on hydrocortisone for life. I'm so confused! All my support groups say I should be on all these supplements and not hydrocortisone. They all say they too have adrenal fatigue but none if them are on hydrocortisone. What is the difference between adrenal fatigue and Addisons?

Hi, Anon.

Thank you for your post.

These are questions you should be asking your doctor as he knows your overall health history. Sometimes there is a specific reason that doctors recommend this and not that. What might be good for others, may not be for your specific condition.

Have a talk with him and ask these questions.
