I have a question about birth control and being pregnant. I am usually always on birth control however the end of November I missed starting it due to being sick so I restarted taking it the end of December. My period came on December 23 like regular, all my periods are 28 days like clockwork. I took my birthcontrol all the way until Jan 15 and 16-which I missed because I had a sinus infection and just forgot to take it-these 2 pills were the last 2 pills in my active 3rd week of pills. I went ahead and took them on Monday Jan 18 just thinking better safe than sorry even though I knew it was too late. Well my period was due Jan 21 and still hasn't came. My husband and I were using condoms until around Jan 10, and we only had sex unprotected that 1 time and haven't had sex again since because I ended up getting sick with the sinus stuff right after that. I went on Jan 17 and got an antibiotic shot. I have been working alot and stressed. I am on ocella which says that it prevents ovulation-if thats correct then there shouldn't have been an egg to fertilize, right? My question is could I be pregnant. I had sex Jan 10 and didn't miss pills until Jan 15, 16-which were the very last 2 active pills. If not then I'm not sure why the period is late, could it be because I took those 2 pills a few days late which threw everything off? I've been hurting in my back and side for months-kidney area and around the front where my liver is. They can't find anything wrong other than fatty liver. I am overweight. I have taken a pregnancy test everyday this week and they are all negative. Timing wise it would be 2-2 1/2 weeks since conception, when should the hcg levels start getting high enough to be tested? I am not super excited about being pregnant right now because we have a 2 year old who isn't sleeping through the night yet. I guess that's why we have 9 months to prepare! Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the help! I didn't get the antibiotic shot until Jan 17, which was after I missed the 2 pills. I actually have a friend who works at an ultrasound studio and she had me come in today to see if there was a sac there. She said no sac and that my endometrum was very thin. She showed me the uterus and everything and there wasn't a sac. Not sure if it would be too small to see, but she said it should be a very small-smaller than a peanut-size black sac on the ultrasound.
Still not sure what's going on. I did schedule an appt with the OBGYN for this coming Monday so I may have him run some other tests if I'm not pregnant. Thanks again!
