I'm a happily married mother of 8 and grandmother of 8 with one more on the way! At 48yrs, I no longer fit into the category of ‘young mother’ but will always be young at heart! I loved my years as a mother and now my children have grown to be wonderful young adults!
I was born in Michigan November 15, 1963, the second child of two wonderful baby boomers. My mom and dad were high school sweethearts, born and raised in Evart, Michigan. They moved my brother and me to the city of Clawson where they were part of the suburban craze of the 60's and 70's. It was a wonderful life!
I graduated from East Anchorage High School in 1981, then from college at BYU – Utah in 1987. After obtaining a bachelors of social work, I became a group counselor at the abused women’s shelter in Anchorage.
When my 4th child was born, I decided to be a full-time mother. During that time I devoted my time to nurture a 28 year marriage, and raise 8 children, preparing them for responsible adulthood. I volunteered in leadership positions in her children’s schools, church youth program and put into practice all that I learned.
In 1995 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which put a speed-bump in her plans to go back to work as a counselor when her kids were in school. It’s been a great learning experience.
When I accepted my new reality and truly embraced it, I created http://MSrelief.com.
MSrelief is a blog dedicated to showing you that you can enjoy your life, no matter what your external circumstances are. This is a place where you can share your experiences, good and bad. As you read my experiences, it will remind you of stories of your own.
Please share your personal growth opportunities and we can learn and grow together.
I specializes in helping others, especially those with MS attain the lifestyle, independence and contribution to society they dream of.
I believe we can truly enjoy life, no matter what our external circumstances are. I'm partnered with amazing people who are working together to help those in the MS community reach their full potential.
My life doesn’t look like I had planned, but I've identified my new reality as a place where I can still help others find joy one step at a time!
I seem to be very depressed
