Dr. Lazarus:
We’ve all got to die from something at some point or other. Thyroid cancer is on the increase slightly in the United States, but the vast majority of persons who get thyroid cancer, the outlook is very good. There are different types of thyroid cancer. The kind of thyroid cancer that a pregnant woman might have is usually what we call a differentiated thyroid cancer, usually a so-called papillary thyroid cancer, and it is not normally fatal.
