Foods to Boost your Libido

According to an episode of CBS' The Early Show Saturday Edition, a few simple foods can give you a boost in the bedroom.

Senior Editor of Health Magazine, Frances Largeman-Roth, recommended adding almonds, strawberries, citrus fruits, figs and seafood to your diet in order to spice things up sexually. From helping the blood more, to stimulating estrogen and increasing fertility, these foods are shown to be part of a well-balanced and sexually satisfying diet.

There are a host of foods that increase libido among women. Incorporate these foods into your diet and you'll be helping your health in more ways than one!

1. Though the media often portrays women succumbing to the temptations of chocolate, dark chocolate can be beneficial for sexual health. An Italian study claims that daily doses of chocolate correlates to a more satisfying sex life. Chocolate triggers the release of endorphins, making you feel good. It also releases tryptophan, anandamide and theobromine which can help curb anxiety and get you in the mood.

2. Spice things up with ginger. Ginger is a strong root that when thrown into stir fry, tea, or curries, can pack a punch. It also helps circulate more blood to your love-making areas. Other spices including oregano, basil, nutmeg and chilis can increase the heart rate and serve as aphrodisiacs.

3. Go for Vitamin B. Bananas and asparagus are filled with vitamin B. Variations of the vitamin contribute to a boosted sex drive. Cut up a banana into your morning cereal and grill up some asparagus with your evening pasta and you'll be whistling at work.

In addition to adding these foods in your life, be aware of the rest of your diet. You may be bettering your body with potent fruits and vegetables, but fast food, sugary artificial sweets and soda can slow down your libido just as quickly.

Your diet may be in spit spot shape, but jumping on that treadmill or stretching for 15 minutes a day can help your body out in more ways than one. Sexual health is part of overall wellness! How do you stay in shape in the bedroom and in your day to day life?
