Dr. Kotian:
I am Dr. Kotian and I am an OB/GYN in Glendale, Arizona and we serve mostly north Phoenix, Glendale, Surprise, Peoria and a very wide variety of populations.

So young women should really start their first exams between the ages of 13 and 15 years of age. The first visit with your gynecologist might not necessarily entail an exam, but they just might want to talk to you, get to know you better, also so you feel comfortable with them and you can establish a future relationship with them.

There are a lot of personal questions that may be asked about your menstrual cycle and your sexual health. It’s very important to give an open and honest answer to these questions so that we can keep you healthy and it’s also a good time to ask any questions to your doctor.
