Dr. Shulman shares if drugs used for depression help with low sexual desire.
Dr. Shulman:
Great question. For the most part, drugs that treat depression, as well as depression themselves, have been associated with libido problems and in fact there are many drugs that are found to inhibit sexual interest that we try to manipulate, not we, but psychologists and psychiatrists try to manipulate to improve overall sex and sexuality. There is however has been shown with the use of some of the anti-depressive drugs, some benefit in some women and that is where the use of such drugs needs to be done by professionals who are experienced and interested in helping the treatment.
