Well, the term vaginal rejuvenation is a fairly new term, that is, it’s not a medical term but a more of descriptive term that’s been used by the media quite a bit. The general public has caught on to this term, and with shows like ”Dr. 90210” and others, vaginal rejuvenation has been identified as a procedure to retighten a woman’s vagina after having had childbirth or birth trauma so that the vaginal vault is back to its original size and diameter.
So vaginal rejuvenation really is a lay term and the more accurate term used by surgeons would be a vaginoplasty.

Dr. Red Alinsod, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., A.C.G.E., graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California, in 1986 and completed his OB/GYN residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1990. His focus in those early years was pelvic surgery. He was the first Rutledge Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer and Tumor Institute and was also selected as a Galloway Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Medical Center.
